【摘要】:Thistestmethodassessestheperformanceofanengineoilwithrespecttocontrolofpistondepositsandmaintenanceofoilconsumptionunderheavy-dutyoperatingconditionsselectedtoacceleratedepositformationinaturbocharged,intercooledfour-stroke-cycledieselengineequippedwithacombustionsystemthatminimizesfederallycontrolledexhaustgasemissions.Theresultsfromthistestmethodmaybecomparedagainstspecificationrequirementstoascertainacceptance.Thedesignofthetestengineusedinthistestmethodisrepresentativeofmany,butnotall,dieselengines.Thisfactor,alongwiththeacceleratedoperatingconditions,needstobeconsideredwhencomparingtestresultsagainstspecificationrequirements.1.1Thetestmethodcoversaheavy-dutyenginetestprocedureunderhighoutputconditionstoevaluateengineoilperformancewithregardtopistondepositformation,pistonringstickingandoilconsumptioncontrolinacombustionenvironmentdesignedtominimizeexhaustemissions.ThistestmethodiscommonlyreferredtoastheCaterpillarC13Heavy-DutyEngineOilTest.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exceptions8212;WheretherearenoSIequivalentsuchasscrewthreads,NationalPipeTreads(NPT),andtubingsizes.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeAnnexA1forgeneralsafetyprecautions.
